Asylum Seeker Information Eligibility: Services available: Br Noonan Asylum Seeker House of Welcome The Noonan centre is located on Church Street in Richmond, it is designed as a place to relax and have fun on the weekends when other services are not available. The centre allows Asylum Seekers access to; a Pool table, small gym, xbox and tv, sport activities and board games and the opportunity to interact with friendly volunteers. The centre also provides a free lunch and frozen meals. All Asylum Seekers are welcome to attend the Noonan Centre, but because of limited resources we are only able to offer free frozen meals to people who do not have work rights. The Noonan centre is open on Sundays from 12pm-4pm. Click here for more information. Volunteer and Employment Scheme: ERASP aims to be able to provide volunteer and employment opportunities for Asylum Seekers while applications for visas are pending. For information please contact the centre directly. More services are currently being developed and will be added here when they are available. Service Ethos: Guided by the czarism of Edmund Rice, ERASP aims to provide friendship and support to Asylum Seekers living in Melbourne. ERASP is a residual service provider and looks to assist current service providers to lessen the desperation of their client, but by no mean intends to recreate current services. |
